Yuri Yatel
Today we’re really excite about featuring a client that most of us at the lab are actual fans of, Mr Yuri Yatel.
Like it often happens we didn’t know his work before he started using our services, but on his first order with us (two Summers ago) we were amazed by his work.
His photography “speaks” to us in many levels, but on a purely aesthetic viewpoint it’s amazing how he seems to choose the best possible light to shoot every single time. We sometimes joke that one would think that he only shoots when the light situation is ideal, but actually Yuri shoots weddings all over Europe with all kinds of light conditions and he nails it every time.
We had tons of material we’ve scanned for him but thought it would be interesting to show his recent work shot during his workshops. To us it’s particularly appealing that he shot in the same location different dates with totally opposite climatic/lighting conditions but using the same camera/film stock setup and both look amazing in their own sweet way.
Hope you enjoy this as much as we do!
All images shot on Contax 645 using Kodak Portra 400 film.

Carmencita Meets Yaroslav & Zhenya
So, as some of you might know for our latest workshop experience we teamed up with the amazing Yaroslav & Jenny and traveled to Crimea to teach some film knowledge.
We flew our lab manager Albert there and from what he told us (and from the images we scanned) it seems it was a pretty amazing experience.
Yaroslav and Zhenya had everything really well planned out with tons of teaching material and meticulously designed styled shoots.
The beauty of the Crimean landscapes, the awesome locations and props were so cool that we just couldn’t not share the images they produced during the workshop.
We did a small selection of our favorite images and we hope you love them as much as we do.
Awesome stuff Yaroslav and Zhenya, congratulations!
PS: all medium format images were shot with a Contax 645 and all 35mm with a Contax NX with the Zeiss Planar 50 f1,4. The film stocks used were Fuji 400H and Kodak Portra 400
Robby Capy & Michael Ferire’s view of Iceland
Alright, so we photographers seem to have a thing for Iceland. There must be something about the wild contrasts of the countries’ landscapes that attract us so much.
Clients Robby Capy and Michael Ferire traveled there a couple months ago and we loved what they shot there so much that we decided to do a combined blog post using a selection of both of their orders. You’ll find all kinds of incredible landscapes, wild life and even couple session.
Hope you guys enjoy these so much as we do!
For “credit” purposes we strictly alternated between Robby’s and Michael’s images (counting diptychs as 1 image). So yeah, the first image is Robby’s second Michael’s and so on.
For the geeks out there Robby shot on a Pentax 645N using the 105mm f2,4 Pentax 67 lens and Michael shot on the Contax 645. Both used Kodak Porta 400
